Iron Man

July 31st, 2007 3 comments

Dear comic fans, may I present to you the one and only Iron Man:

Robert Downey Jr. is Anthony Stark, head of Stark Enterprises and also known as Iron Man. Currently the movie is slated for a release on May 2nd 2008. Unfortunately, the official site doesn’t offer any content whatsoever right now but there’s some information to be found over at Marvel’s.

    Back from vacation

    July 30th, 2007 2 comments

Ha, long time no see. Or write. Or … whatever. I just wanted to let you all know that I was on vacation and I really had a great time with my girlfriend. We didn’t get abroad, though. Anyway, we spent lotta time out in the wilds, jogging, biking, swimming, shopping – the usual stuff, I suppose. Not for once did I think of my computer and that’s quite a feat. However, I got sore muscles, I lost some weight which in itself isn’t all that bad, and I’m fitter than I was before.

Thing is, though we stayed at home I still managed to spend quite a bit of money on very different things. I bought a new mountain bike and some accessory stuff. I bought a new Timex, my old Seiko wasn’t up to the task any more (Note to self: Don’t forget to ask parents for guarantee certificate). Spent a considerable amount of money on food and tickets. Visited the Federal Pathologic-anatomical Museum in Vienna, also known as the Madhouse Tower, which was the first special building for the accommodation of mental patients in the world. Of course, a more literal translation of “Narrenturm” would be Fool’s Tower, but that wouldn’t quite meet the purpose of the building.

Now, I’m at work again and it really sucks. Especially if you got nothing to do at all. How I’d like to stay at home today …

      1-18-08

      July 12th, 2007 2 comments

You may have already seen the trailer in front of Transformers. Anyway, it’s awesome. And, obviously, a good kept secret since this movie doesn’t have a name yet. Currently, all that’s known is the codename during pre-production: Cloverfield. And that’s all you get to know. So, it doesn’t have a title and the trailer doesn’t give you any clues at all. No wonder, people are crazy about this movie. Just head over to YouTube and do a quick search for 1-18-08. You will find some amazing stuff about people trying to analyze the trailer and trying to come up with some conclusive information.

Thus, what the movie actually does have is plenty of buzz! That tells me that the marketing guys did a remarkable job. Simple but effective. Definitely a crowd pleaser. And so they got lots and lots of attention with a minimal budget. Nonetheless, the trailer looks damn nice.

There’s also something resembling an official site, if you care. There’s almost nothing there, though. If you’re looking for a HD trailer, visit Apple’s trailer site. I have to admit that I feel the tension. I’d like to know more …

        Writing a book …

        July 4th, 2007 2 comments

… should be fun. One shouldn’t write a book if it means hard work (looking up some facts hardly counts as hard work here). I always wanted to write at least one book and have it on a bestseller list. Nice dream, you say? Well, I know I’m good at writing if I set my mind to it. Don’t let my not so perfect command of the English language fool you into believing that I’m bad with words. I have been good at writing in my native language in the past and I won’t do bad in the future. That’s a fact.

I should start right now because I’ve planned to start writing before I turn 26. There’s only one problem: I don’t know what to write about. Sounds crazy, eh? You see, I got shitloads of ideas in my head and I simply can’t pick one. Of course, I don’t have everything planned in advance but I have already a very rough outline for every story I want to bring to paper. Right now, in this very moment, I’m trying to settle for the plot I’d like to explore the most, thanks to my multi-tasking capabilities.

Interestingly enough, Evil Spock recommended the TV show Heroes not too long ago and since I’ve finished it my mind is filled with new ideas. In fact, I feel like Peter Petrelli – like not being able to contain all my thoughts. I try and I try, but they desperately wanna get outta my head, with exploding force. To accommodate my writing skills and my future publishers, I will have to invent the Brainlink, enabling me to communicate with my computer wirelessly by thought only …
