Any­way, there’s a Moviehole report stat­ing that the project is a “re-envisioning(if that is a word) of the Mor­tal Kom­bat fran­chise from top to bot­tom”. Appar­ently, the Pro­duc­ers are in the process of work­ing out their deals with the stu­dio and arrang­ing their financ­ing. After that is squared away “all cast­ing options will be explored”.

Drew McWeeny said on AICN that he hasn’t heard from the pro­duc­ers for years now even though IMDB still men­tions him as a writer. I won­der if there will be a con­nec­tion with the next install­ment of the video game which should be announced this year.
