I don’t really have time to fix my user­script Tweak Game­trail­ers but I just did any­way. The lat­est changes over at Gametrailers.com intro­duced a new flash player and ban­ished Quick­Time and Win­dows Media Player. In addi­tion with few mod­er­ate changes in the nam­ing scheme my script didn’t work any­more. Now it’ll work again and it’s even smaller than before.

Ah, just to let you all now: Obvi­ously, the guys over at Game­trail­ers made some big­ger changes. Effec­tive imme­di­ately you only need to reg­is­ter to com­pletely bypass the age ver­i­fi­ca­tion. Of course, my script still will take care of that annoy­ance. Have fun!

Well, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is on its way to glory. I’ve never played more than a demo of the first install­ment, Drake’s For­tune, but I cer­tainly loved what I saw. It’s time to get the full ver­sion of Drake’s For­tune and get started before buy­ing part two. Both games fea­ture a gor­geous visual design but each is com­pletely self-contained. You do get a lit­tle bit out of a few lines or reveals if you’ve played the first game, though.

Any­way, Among Thieves really looks good and the voice act­ing is said to be excel­lent. Com­bine this with funny writ­ing and a well rounded selec­tion of weapons, con­sid­er­ing that actions scenes can play out in many dif­fer­ent ways, it looks like we have a real win­ner here. Of course, that’s just my opin­ion but the game is really doing well on Meta­critic: a score of 97 out of 100 based on 53 reviews is astounding!

The game also fea­tures a com­pet­i­tive and co-operative mul­ti­player mode and … wait a minute – I’m already sold! The sec­ond install­ment  will be launched today in the US. In Aus­tralia and Japan Among Thieves will be released on Octo­ber 15th. We peo­ple in the EU will get it last on Octo­ber 16th. The game is rated T or 16+ and will set you back 60 bucks.

Early this year I was look­ing for an online book­shelf to man­age my books. It had to be online so that I could access it at a whim from every­where. I did some research and I dis­cov­ered Shel­fari which I’ve been using for almost a year now. Since then Shel­fari has come a long way. The folks over there did an awe­some job and I’m glad to have found the site. I’m using it quite fre­quently these days – though I have yet to add all my books – and I thought it’s time to praise the service.

Shel­fari fea­tures an appeal­ing design and is very easy to use, as long as you don’t use the more sophis­ti­cated func­tions. Search­ing for books is very easy and you can do so by title, author name, or ISBN. Since they have access to Amazon’s data­base your searches only rarely come up with noth­ing. After you found a spe­cific book you can add it to your per­sonal library with a sim­ple click. Addi­tion­ally, you can pro­vide some infor­ma­tion on the book, e. g., whether you own the book or not, how much it cost you, your review, tags, and so on. Farscape Com­plete Series Megaset

On Novem­ber 17th, A&E Home Enter­tain­ment and The Jim Hen­son Com­pany will release Farscape The Com­plete Series Megaset. This Megaset con­tains all 88 episodes plus over 15 hours of bonus fea­tures.  A full list­ing of the con­tents can be found over at TVShowsOnDVD.com.  The Gift Set ups the ante by includ­ing two bonus discs title The Archives. I have only recently acquired The Ulti­mate Com­plete Col­lec­tion but it’s still in the process of being shipped to me. It cost me quite a few bucks and doesn’t con­tain bonus mate­r­ial, as far as I know. I pre­fer this cover over the one on the new Megaset, though. And I still hope for a Blu-ray release which will prob­a­bly not hap­pen soon, if ever. Well, let’s see.

So, what about the promised webisodes they didn’t made because of the bad econ­omy? There’s not much infor­ma­tion to be found on the issue. Looks like they’re in the process of rais­ing money to make that hap­pen, accord­ing to Nix over at SciFiCool.com, who attended this year’s Comic Con. They’re very keen on doing some­thing with the FarScape Uni­verse and it seems like money is the only issue. Ah, it’s a shame.
