I don’t really have time to fix my userscript Tweak Gametrailers but I just did anyway. The latest changes over at Gametrailers.com introduced a new flash player and banished QuickTime and Windows Media Player. In addition with few moderate changes in the naming scheme my script didn’t work anymore. Now it’ll work again and it’s even smaller than before.
Ah, just to let you all now: Obviously, the guys over at Gametrailers made some bigger changes. Effective immediately you only need to register to completely bypass the age verification. Of course, my script still will take care of that annoyance. Have fun!
Well, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is on its way to glory. I’ve never played more than a demo of the first installment, Drake’s Fortune, but I certainly loved what I saw. It’s time to get the full version of Drake’s Fortune and get started before buying part two. Both games feature a gorgeous visual design but each is completely self-contained. You do get a little bit out of a few lines or reveals if you’ve played the first game, though.
Anyway, Among Thieves really looks good and the voice acting is said to be excellent. Combine this with funny writing and a well rounded selection of weapons, considering that actions scenes can play out in many different ways, it looks like we have a real winner here. Of course, that’s just my opinion but the game is really doing well on Metacritic: a score of 97 out of 100 based on 53 reviews is astounding!
The game also features a competitive and co-operative multiplayer mode and … wait a minute – I’m already sold! The second installment will be launched today in the US. In Australia and Japan Among Thieves will be released on October 15th. We people in the EU will get it last on October 16th. The game is rated T or 16+ and will set you back 60 bucks.

Early this year I was looking for an online bookshelf to manage my books. It had to be online so that I could access it at a whim from everywhere. I did some research and I discovered Shelfari which I’ve been using for almost a year now. Since then Shelfari has come a long way. The folks over there did an awesome job and I’m glad to have found the site. I’m using it quite frequently these days – though I have yet to add all my books – and I thought it’s time to praise the service.
Shelfari features an appealing design and is very easy to use, as long as you don’t use the more sophisticated functions. Searching for books is very easy and you can do so by title, author name, or ISBN. Since they have access to Amazon’s database your searches only rarely come up with nothing. After you found a specific book you can add it to your personal library with a simple click. Additionally, you can provide some information on the book, e. g., whether you own the book or not, how much it cost you, your review, tags, and so on. Some of the additional information is private and only you can see it. Read more…

Farscape Complete Series Megaset
On November 17th, A&E Home Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company will release Farscape The Complete Series Megaset. This Megaset contains all 88 episodes plus over 15 hours of bonus features. A full listing of the contents can be found over at TVShowsOnDVD.com. The Gift Set ups the ante by including two bonus discs title The Archives. If you’re still missing The Peacekeeper Wars, don’t worry: A&E has brokered a deal for you. You will be able to buy one of 5,000 limited Collector’s Edition gift sets exclusively available at Best Buy.
I have only recently acquired The Ultimate Complete Collection but it’s still in the process of being shipped to me. It cost me quite a few bucks and doesn’t contain bonus material, as far as I know. I prefer this cover over the one on the new Megaset, though. And I still hope for a Blu-ray release which will probably not happen soon, if ever. Well, let’s see.
So, what about the promised webisodes they didn’t made because of the bad economy? There’s not much information to be found on the issue. Looks like they’re in the process of raising money to make that happen, according to Nix over at SciFiCool.com, who attended this year’s Comic Con. They’re very keen on doing something with the FarScape Universe and it seems like money is the only issue. Ah, it’s a shame.
