Yes­ter­day Fox released the trailer for 24′s -- prob­a­bly final -- sea­son 8 which will pre­miere on Jan­u­ary 17th, 2010. This time around, the series will unfold in New York City and see the re-​​activation of CTU’s New York office. It’s back to the roots for Jack Bauer as the plot line seems more akin to the nar­ra­tive that started the whole show. The story arc involves Bauer con­tend­ing with an assas­si­na­tion attempt on pres­i­dent Has­san from a fic­tional Mid­dle East­ern country.

Sea­son 8 sees Bauer want­ing to spend some time with his daugh­ter and grand­daugh­ter but once again his coun­try needs his help. Pres­i­dent Has­san is threat­ened to be assas­si­nated at the United Nations and, of course, only Jack Bauer has the skills and guts to help. Pres­i­dent Tay­lor and Chloe Sul­li­van return to help. It also looks like they brought back Charles Logan who was left nearly dead in sea­son six. Let’s see how this will turn out.
