Lazy? WTF?

January 28th, 2008 2 comments

You claim that I’m too lazy? Hell, over the last two weeks I’ve had more work to do than I’m used to. Still, I could’ve … no, I’ve been down that road before. So, Mr. I-want-the-low-down-on-every-fucking-thing-Bauer, here’s what I have to say about the world of entertainment. Of course, you’re referring to Heath Ledger’s untimely death. I simply couldn’t write about it because I didn’t know the man. Sure, the internet was abuzz with rumors but there hasn’t been something substantial besides the fact that he has been found dead in one of his residences in Soho.

After more than a week has passed, there are shitloads of rumors shrouding the truth. At least, what looked like an overdose may not have been the case. TMZ reports that sources intimately connected with the Heath Ledger investigation told TMZ “it’s possible the actor died of natural causes”. Apparently, the “level of toxicity (from medication) in Ledger’s system was low enough that it may not have caused his death”. The website further reports that it could have been a heart attack but they don’t know for sure yet. Anyway, you should take this report with a grain of salt.

I’m sorry he died that young – he was only two years my senior. I enjoyed most of his movies and I thought him a talented actor. But then, I didn’t have the chance to get to know him personally which makes it impossible to say anything more. Anyway, I’m sure he’s made a name of himself and fans will kindly remember him and the last two projects he participated in: I’m Not There and The Dark Knight. I for one will surely watch the latter.

    Poor Allison Stokke

    June 27th, 2007 4 comments

Allison Stokke18-year-old Allison Stokke became a victim of unwanted internet popularity. Apparently, Miss Stokke is one of the best pole vaulters the United States of America have to offer. If some reports can be believed, she’s just a couple of inches off the best high school girls mark. That makes her an exceptional athlete, I guess.

Unfortunately, she’s quite beautiful too, as you can see on the picture. This combination has led to a relentless internet attention. In fact, it has led to a cult of some sorts. A quick search I did on Google just confirmed that, even though it looks like the Stokkes got things somewhat under control as of lately. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss, they say. But that didn’t work out with poor Allison. Ignoring these events just didn’t work out. Fans turned her picture into the background picture on their computers which felt like “becoming the victim of a crime”, according to Miss Stokke.

Of course, most people want to become famous, a celebrity of some sorts. For Allison it’s only sports that matters. Pole vaulting, that is. She complained that “nobody really sees me”. I couldn’t agree more. Most people don’t care. All they see is a beautiful young woman with olive skin in a spandex uniform. Sadly, that’s all they need to start writing about their sexual fantasies. It is demeaning to be reduced to a sex object, especially if you’re a promising young athlete. I feel sorry for her, even though there are many others out there who share her plight.

      Oh, Honey!

      October 24th, 2006 No comments

Lovely Jessica AlbaEven though I’ve seen most episodes of the Dark Angel series and lots of movies featuring her, Jessica Alba hasn’t lost her charm. She’s one of the most beautiful women I know and I always enjoy her easy smile. Sadly, I’ll never gonna get to know her personally. Well, that’s OK considering that I don’t really have an excellent command of the English language and that I wouldn’t know what to talk with her. Unfortunately, that doesn’t quench my desire to know more of her than I do now.

Every time I see her in Sin City or Fantastic Four – I’ve grown up with this comic series – I’d like to get to know her. Ha, I can almost hear you thinking “Whatta freak!” or “Wow this guy is obsessive!”. I can assure you, I’m not obsessive and I wouldn’t threaten her in any way. Nor do I feel like I’m in love with her. That’d be quite an achievement in self-deceit and quite a cheat on my girlfriend I’m absolutely happy with. No, it’s just that I’d like to know her as a person which is also known as plain interest in people. You know, TV and magazines try to transform celebrities into more than they really are. They try to exploit everything just to get a top selling story and, ultimately, more readers and viewers respectively.

Without a doubt there are many celebrities I’d like to get to know but she’ll always be my first choice among them. I absolutely love that she doesn’t want to do nudity which definitely doesn’t make her a bad actress. This is too easy a way for actresses to get their fame up and build a career (By the way, ain’t it funny that one can’t assert the same for actors? Well, nothing is ever easy.). Yeah, I’d really like to hear some of her opinions on different matters. That’d make a more rounded picture than I’ll ever get by gathering facts somewhere in the net.

All the best, Jessica. You’re already held in high esteem and you’re ambitious. You’re acting abilites have yet to be really tested but I’m confident that you’ll rise to the challenge. Just take your time. Don’t rush things and all will be well for both you and your audience.
